Wynndel was born and raised in the Oak Grove community.  He was saved in 1969 at the age of six years old.  He surrendered to preach in 1978 at the age of 15 here at Oak Grove and was ordained to the ministry in 1980 by Oak Grove after being called as associate pastor to Big Creek Baptist Church.  He left Big Creek to attend Central Baptist College in Conway AR in 1981.

He pastored Unity Baptist Church in Jonesboro for 2 years before returning to Oak Grove on April 6, 1988 to become the associate pastor.  He was called to become the pastor March 12, 1989.  Wynndel has served as pastor here at Oak Grove for over 31 years.

He is blessed by a wonderful wife, Vicki (McCrackin) King, and one son, Caleb.  Vicki has served as church pianist for many years.  I as any pastor can testify that it was and is because of my family's willingness to allow me to spend so much of my time working for the Lord that the ministry of Oak Grove has been blessed.
